New Digital Cardiac Rehabilitation Solution Presented at a Webinar
On October 24, Professor Tone Merete Norekvål from Haukeland University Hospital introduced a new digital cardiac rehabilitation solution, eCardiacRehab, during a national webinar for healthcare professionals. The presentation, titled “eCardiacRehab: Cardiac Rehabilitation Today and in the Future,” showcased a groundbreaking research project aimed at supporting cardiac patients who face challenges participating in traditional rehabilitation programs due to long travel distances or other barriers.

This groundbreaking research project aims to support heart patients who often face challenges in attending traditional rehabilitation programs due to long travel distances or other barriers.
Currently, only 14% of Norwegian cardiac patients take part in hospital-based rehabilitation, despite a much greater need. eCardiacRehab offers a flexible and accessible option by allowing patients to complete a comprehensive rehabilitation program—including exercise sessions—from the comfort of their home, at their own convenience. Professor Norekvål and her team hope this innovative solution will enable more patients to benefit from rehabilitation, ultimately improving their health and quality of life.
This project marks an important step toward the future of healthcare and demonstrates how digital solutions can help make rehabilitation accessible to all.
