Cardiac markers

This research group is focused on clinical research concerning cardiac biomarkers and imaging.

The group is a transdisciplinary team of medical doctors, students and biomedical laboratory scientists working within cardiology, emergency medicine and laboratory medicine.

The group is coordinated by Professor Kristin Moberg Aakre, though with a “flat structure” where the senior researchers are chairing individual projects usually conducted in collaboration with the other group members.

The group include 8-12 junior researchers (medical students, PhD students and medical doctors working as researchers). We also collaborate with national and international researchers within our specialties, as applicable.

The group has a diverse portfolio including research project of different size within cardiology, emergency medicine and laboratory medicine; see “Projects”.

Our research is mostly financed by the Western Norway Regional Health Authority, but we also have research grants from Trond Mohn Foundation and internal funding from Haukeland University Hospital.
